More about Wieke Garcia and Bart Fermie:
The Entada Dreamseed. Their seeds are buoyant and survive lengthy journeys via rivers and ocean currents, to eventually wash up on tropical beaches.
Duo multi-instrumentalists Bart Fermie and Wieke Garcia will bring you with the help of improvisations, new compositions and the road they have taken for many years, a unique concert that will bring you to different parts of the world.
Wieke and Bart share the interest in the history and evolution of music and its instruments.. For instance the many rhythmical instruments from West-Africa traveled to Latin-America to evolve into a new style. Or the harp played for thousands of years on different continents in many shapes will be joined with the E-pedal harp.
Wieke Garcia
Wieke is a blessed vocalist who always puts her virtuosity at the service of music. Over the years she trained herself on harp and percussion. And not only in terms of rhythm and sound does it impose any restrictions. With great ease she knows how to seduce the listener in her musical adventure.
Wieke Garcia leads her listeners on an exciting journey to very different worlds at the first a link to jazz, which she manages to connect with different styles in only one song in a completely natural way. It shows courage to leave such stubborn footprints in a world in which music often quickly becomes uniform. Most of the songs were composed by Wieke and the rest supplemented with the most beautiful traditionals from different directions.
Bart Fermie
